Properties: Ajwain is a potent Ayurvedic medicine for acidity, burning sensation in the stomach, gas and constipation, colds, fever and diabetes.

Consumption method: 1/2 to 1 teaspoon is to be soaked in a cup of water overnight, after boiling in the morning half a cup is to be filtered and drink or as prescribed by the doctor. / Can also be used for the Cooking.

 

गुणधर्म: अजवाइन एसीडिटी, पेट में जलन, गैस और कब्ज बनना, सर्दी-जुकाम, बुखार एवं डायबिटीज में गुणकारी आयुर्वेदिक औषधि है।

सेवन विधि: 1/2 से 1 चम्मच एक कप पानी में रात को भिगोना है सुबह पकाकर आधा कप शेष रहने पर छानकर पीना है या चिकित्सक के परामर्शानुसार ।

The plant is an erect, glabrous and corymbosely branched annual which grows from 20 to 90 cm high. Leaves are petiolate, 2 to 3-pinnate, ultimate segments linearfiliform measuring 15 × 0.2 to 0.5 mm. Petioles are narrowly sheathing at base. Umbels are 2.5 to 5 cm across and compound. Bracts are 3 to 8, linear-subulate and are 5 to 7 mm. Bracteoles are 5 to 10, linear and is 2 to 3 mm. Petals are white, 1.3 by 1.3 mm and obovate emarginate or acuminate. Fruit is 1.2 × 2 mm to 1.0 × 1.8 mm, broadly ellipsoid to ovoid and slightly compressed laterally. Mericarps are densely covered with fine short hairs or papillae.

Benefits

Ajwain seeds or powder put in a thin cloth, under the pillow and inhaled frequently can help with infant's cold. Ajwain water can also be used as a mouth wash and mouth rinse. Tip:
a. Take 1-2 glass of water in a pan.
b. Add 1 teaspoon of Ajwain seeds to it.
c. Bring it to a boil on low flame for 8-10 mins.
d. Take 2-3 teaspoon of this decoction 3-6 times a day.
